Alexandra is a Colombian citizen from Catatumbo who is currently in Tijuana with her 4-year-old son, waiting to reunite with her husband in the United States. After being displaced by armed groups in her hometown and making future plans with her family, Alexandra decided to travel to Mexico in order to cross into U.S. territory with the help of a coyote. However, Trump’s election to the presidency of the United States halted her crossing, as the coyotes also “stopped working.”
