Two young single mothers left their homeland for the US for economic reasons. They sought work in Mexico, heading to Tijuana due to low wages elsewhere. They had hoped to cross to the US, but when the CBP One app was shut down, they opted to apply to stay in Mexico, where they have obtained permanent residency, and stable employment. The are grateful to the Jardín de las Mariposas LGBT+ shelter and other organizations that have helped them.
