529. John across the world

John is a husband and father of two, an immigrant from the Democratic Republic of the Congo who finds himself in Mexico after a long journey from Africa in an attempt to reach the United States. In his narrative, he recounts three key elements: a) the difficult situation in his country, which involves his family, who are refugees and whom he seeks to bring to Mexico; b) his personal qualities, which have allowed him to navigate a context of transnational mobility; c) his relationship with Mexican institutions, which oscillates between the multiple abuses committed by authorities and support in resolving his temporary stay.
