In this first part, Rene Webster narrates three important aspects: a) some traumatic events and biographical tensions of her transnational practice as a migrant, activist, and human rights defender in journalism; b) the history of the Miskito indigenous people in relation to the usurpation of their lands; and c) the importance of defending this people in a context of tension arising from the Nicaraguan government regime. The story concludes with her perception of her mobility in relation to her unexpected departure from the country.
