Deportation

After living some thirty years in the US, an undocumented immigrant with a drinking problem was deported to Tijuana. He now finds himself in a country he barely knows anymore. At an advanced age, it’s hard for him to find work. He presents his story as a cautionary tale for immigrants in the US who don’t appreciate the opportunity they have.

A single DUI many years ago prevented this undocumented immigrant from obtaining residency by marriage. Arrested in a workplace raid, and deported, he finds the separation from his family to be a cruel punishment for an error committed long ago. After several thwarted attempts to rejoin his family, he is resigned to living separate from them in Mexico.
