Alex recounts in his story how he ended up deported to Ecuador in 2025 after having traveled multiple times to the United States since 1991. His narrative describes his motivations, as well as his attempts and difficulties to apply for asylum after he and his brother experienced extreme violence.

Frank recognizes that he was deported due to mistakes he made when he was young that got him repeatedly into trouble. While after previous deportations he used to cross back, even via dangerous desert routes, he now accepts his life in Mexico with the help of God. What he misses most of the US is his family, especially. his grandkids.

After getting convicted, Joshua serves his jail sentence and ends up getting deported to Tijuana where luckily an older woman invites him to stay at her house. Soon he finds work and rents his own apartment. He also enrolls in a degree program in law. Through all of this, he learned life lessons that he wishes to share.

César Urincho Castro migrated from Mexico in 2004 seeking the American Dream. Castro explains his desire for better living standards and how that motivated him to enact his highly perilous first crossing attempt near the border. This attempt culminated in a terrifying high-speed chase involving 36 migrants crammed into a truck, which crashed after the co-pilot fired a weapon at pursuers. After being deported following a week of detention marked by starvation and abuse from immigration agents, Castro immediately secured a coyote and made a second, successful journey to Los Angeles.

After graduating, he moved to Portugal in the hope of settling there, but encountered significant migration-related difficulties, delays in obtaining documentation, limited employment opportunities, and a severe housing crisis.
