Lucía and her children were able to enter the US with humanitarian parole, but her husband was detained for illegal reentry and then deported. She tried to take care of her kids by herself in Kansas and then Chicago, but as an immigrant it was very hard. She also learned that it would be difficult for her to justify an asylum case. In the end she decided to return to Mexico.
