Vanessa Estrada Santizo, originally from Honduras, was registered in Chiapas, Mexico, when she was a child, as she did not have any Honduran documents. She was adopted and moved to Tijuana, where she has lived for many years and has been married for 21 years. Vanessa has always enjoyed helping others and currently runs a shelter for migrants. Recently, she traveled to Honduras after her brother’s death to experience migration as an adult. During her return journey, she faced multiple difficulties, including extortion and other problems on the bus trip from San Pedro Sula to Mexico. Despite these challenges, Vanessa continued to help other migrants along the way.
