“We did not agree with what the president had decreed…so there were marches…they didn’t like the marches… and they would look for us and would send the police on us, they would take them, they would kidnap them and they would imprison them and they wouldn’t tell their families anything, and they would just take them as if they were taking an object, a dog or an animal … we decided to leave the country because we had been threatened.”
